Redrow Seeks New Land Around Leeds

Redrow is actively seeking new development opportunities in and around Leeds.

Several opportunities are already on the table, including a potential new development on Manston Lane, Crossgates, which would form part of the East Leeds Extension area. A planning application has been submitted jointly with Taylor Wimpey for 925 homes along with a proposed community hub and new primary school.

The sold-out Garforth development comprised two adjoining Redrow outlets, Aspen Park with its Georgian-inspired Regent Collection townhouses and The Poplars, which featured predominantly detached homes from Redrow’s Arts & Crafts inspired Heritage Collection.

John Handley, managing director for Redrow Yorkshire, said: “Where the old Stocks Blocks manufacturing plant once stood in Garforth, we have now created a thriving community of new homes for a wide range of buyers from first-time owners to families and older people looking to downsize. Demand for our properties was consistently high, owing as much to the location, which has a great sense of community, a wealth of amenities, and proximity to Leeds and all a city offers, as to the outstanding quality for which Redrow is renowned.”

As well as breathing new life into a redundant site, supporting construction and supply chain jobs and creating a new community, Redrow also provided 36 affordable homes, created public green spaces and cycle paths connecting the development to the surrounding area and Garforth train station.

It has also made Section 106 and Community Infrastructure Levy contributions of more than £2 million to the local authority to help support the development of new homes.

Redrow is already building other new homes close by in Leeds, including 300 two, three and four-bedroom homes and apartments at Thorpe Park.
